Hi everyone,
I need some technical insight regarding my 2023 Astra GSe. My front camera failed. The dealer replaced both the front camera and the wiring harness, but since that repair, most of my ADAS system has been dead.
The Symptoms:
Every time I start the car, I get these errors:
- "Collision Mitigation System Unavailable"
- "Rear Cross Traffic Alert Unavailable" (when in reverse)
- Side Blind Spot Alert (mirrors) does not work at all.
Crucial Detail:
Interestingly, the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) works perfectly. It detects cars ahead and maintains distance without issues.
The "Extra Connectors" Clue:
The dealer mentioned that the new wiring harness they installed was different from the original and had extra/unused connectors. Despite the ACC working, they now claim the front radar itself is faulty and needs replacement.
My Questions:
- If the Adaptive Cruise Control is working, isn't that proof that the front radar is actually fine?
- Is it possible the dealer installed a harness/camera meant for Intelli-Drive 2.0 into a 1.0 car, causing a software mismatch for the safety systems (Collision/Blind Spot) while leaving basic ACC functional?Could the "extra connectors" on the new harness be the reason the car can't initialize the full safety suite?
I suspect the dealer is misdiagnosing a hardware mismatch as a "broken radar." Any advice or part number info would be hugely helpful.
